Research Proposal Writing

Research proposal writing is a pre-requisite for attaining a degree. Also, instructors use research proposals to test students’ level of understanding of the course materials. Writing a research proposal requires an original topic, a problem statement, research questions, literature review, and research design. You may not have enough time to complete the research proposal and other assignments. At, we help students write original research proposals. The following is a sample introduction of a research proposal written by our writers. Read it to get an overview of how to write an introduction. We would like to remind you not to use this sample introduction because it will lead to plagiarism. We write research proposals from scratch and don’t reuse our customers’ work. This sample was only published for you to see how we approach the introduction part of the research proposal.

Variation in the Understory Plant Species Richness

Preservation of understory plant species is important for the conservation of vegetation, which prevents soil erosion. However, understory plant species are at risk of extinction due to a decrease in the percentage cover from the forest. The research will help in making informed policies that will lead to the conservation of understory plant cover. Species identity is important in controlling soil biodiversity.  The understory plant species can lead to a change in soil biodiversity. The understory plant species include lovely flowers, ferns and berries, lichens, and bryophytes (Zhao et al. 2014). These plant species can vary with the distance from the forest edge. The study on how these species vary from the forest edge helps in determining the most appropriate ways of conserving the understory vegetation cover.

The species richness can decrease from the edge of the forest due to the differences in the amount of sunlight received and moisture. The plants at the edge of the forest have direct sunlight, which helps in photosynthesis (Holmes & Likens, 2016).  Percent cover will decrease because of the difference in soil moisture and the distance from the forest edge. The level of soil moisture in the forest is different from the soil moisture at the edge of the forest. Also, the understory plants in the forest may lack direct sunlight, which affects photosynthesis.

The research question is: Do understory plant species richness and percentage cover vary with distance from the forest edge? The hypothesis of the research is: The researchers hypothesized that understory plant species richness decreases with distance from the forest edge.  The researchers will investigate the variation in the understory plant species in the forest and at the edge of the forest. The study will help to determine conservation methods that are appropriate to the different understory plant species both in the forest and at the forest edge.
